Looking for a new dermatologist, who is everybody's favorite derm doc???

I have a recommendation for Monica at Dermika, anyone else use her?

I used her once but she is way too expensive.

Thanks, I've heard that before. I thought there was one at Quality Care that people liked. . .but I don't see one listed on their website.

In fairness, I should mention, Monica just found melanoma on a friend's back.

I use Dermika for annual inspections. I see whomever they assign me too.

Quality Care has a dermatologist and a friend used her and very satisfied.

The Dermatologist at Quality Care is Dra. Daniela Bañuelos. They are in the process of updating their website.

Dr Luis at Dermika diagnosed and treated and issue that I had with very good results.

We have many good dermatologists here that come from Guadalajara.
We are also so fortunate to have all of the specialist doctors come here to serve us so we do not have to drive to them. Remember to always thank the specialists that come here to help us and how you appreciate them. It makes a difference to them when they know they are really appreciated and welcomed. Support your local doctors, but also support the specialists that come here for us.

I second Dra. Danielaat Quality Care. Very knowledgeable, very professional and very kind.

I have an appt Thursday with Dra. Martha at integrity. We'll see how it goes. Maybe I'll check price differences first.

I would go to Quality Care also. All Drs. are board certified and up on their in services. They know their stuff. They have good parking.

I went to Monica several years ago for a $60 procedure....told me I really needed a chemical peal....and charged me $400. US.   I hadn't priced it up here or would have known I was getting ripped off.  Took all of a half hour.  I was happy with the final result about three weeks later..but was definitely taken advantage of.  Just be smarter than me.

I made the change to QC. Thanks, everyone. QC Derm exam 650 I Derm exam 600.

My friend was told that her melanoma was superficial and there was no need for chemo/rad was happy to hear that, however, I would like to know how they know they got it all. Do they  have a lab at Dermika? How can they be sure, on a cellular level, they got it all? Do you think they do the Mohs surgery at Dermika??? (Mohs surgery is a precise surgical technique used to treat skin cancer. During Mohs surgery, thin layers of cancer-containing skin are progressively removed and examined until only cancer-free tissue remains. Mohs surgery is also known as Mohs micrographic surgery.)

After my initial biopsy and diagnoses, I had my melanoma removed in one big chunk. Slides were prepared using the tissue from the surgical margins. They got it all in the biopsy and the surgical tissue had no melanoma. Clark's level II.

Can't say enough good about Dra. Daniela at QC. She did a thorough head to toe, explained everything she saw, zapped a few spots with a different technique than I'm used to, and good home care instructions.

Another thumbs up for Dra Daniela. Ha - I was there twice last week, and they are gradually changing their doctor board. But they must be scraping off the old letters by hand. Only about a quarter names remained, I told Letty if all these Doctors keep dying, I don't that is going to be good for business!

Quality Care is redoing their Dr. board. They are adding more doctors, not deleting doctors. They have grown now to where they have 2 separate areas of patient rooms. We are fortunate to have so many good doctors coming to us from the big city.

Of course they are sm1mex, it was just a smart a$$ comment that made Letty laugh - which is pure gold. My own skin cream discovery has been by a friend of mine, who does not post on this board, she makes a foot cream which contains a small percentage of hand rendered beef tallow. As she says, there really is no substitute. All the cracks and white bits of my old man's feet disappear, nothing like expensive water based creams. It is like a second skin, in that it bonds with your natural skin, and in a shower or foot bath, it actually beads up like a duck's feathers.
