3D Printer experience
I want to get into making models (cars, rockets, etc) with a 3D printer but I have absolutely no knowledge about them. Is anyone here using a 3D printer for such things? I would love to come and see it and have a chat on how to proceed.

I have found that there is plenty of tutorials on YouTube. I ordered an AnyCubic Kobra 3 Neo printer on Amazon. They have a $1500.00 peso discount on it at the moment.

I'm interested in knowing how you like it. Maybe I can come see a demo when you figure it all out?

Looks like fun! What are you going to make?
What about the cost of resin, printer plates and tubing? Just curious.

There are two types of printers. Filament vs Resin.
Filament is cheap and easy to use. You just have to buy spools of different filament colors. They are relatively inexpensive. The quality of the finished product is not quite as good as resin however a little sanding here and there can fix that.
Resin is more expensive and a more complicated procedure. You have to buy toxic resin and also have to cure with UV lights and wash with alcohol. Gloves and masks are suggested when handling these products. The quality of the finished product is higher than filament.
I plan on making models. I'll probably start with the different SpaceX rockets. There are literally thousands of different designs you can get online. Some are free and some you pay for.

Bob, what model of Anycubic did you buy, where did you buy it, and what are your thoughts about it after your first project?

Re: 3D Printer experience
I bought the "AnyCubic Kobra 2 Neo". I bought it from Amazon during the Black Friday sale. It was $5000 pesos on sale. I have used it for about 300 print hours now and have absolutely no complaints. For an entry level model, it performs well. It is easy to setup and use. There are lots of YouTube videos you can watch that compares brands and recommends good choices for beginners. You can get all the different types and colors of filament on Amazon too. It seems reasonably priced even though anything from China gets a 35% duty slapped onto it.
