Telcel phone usage in Canada

I'm not having much luck calling land lines lines here in Canada. The calls just won't go through. I can call my wife's Mexican cell phone which is located in Canada and my son's Canadian cell phone. I've tried with 001 then the area code and number also just 1 then the area code. And, while It's not time to add new peso to my monthly Amigo plan (200 pesos per month) I added another 100 pesos the other day. Any ideas or suggestion would surely be appreciated.

Do not put 001 or 1 before the number. Just use the regular 10 digit number as you would if using a Canadian phone.

I honestly can't remember. I seem to recall having to put my phone on roaming for some things, but not for others. It was kind of weird.
Easy enough for the OP to experiment with, though.

My Roaming is on. So I tried calling 2 land lines here in canada moments ago and still got the the Spanish message (have to work on that) however, after teh message the calls went through. I guess I can live with that for the summer. Thanks for all the suggestions.

The message I'm getting is..You must select a renewal instruction. Please enter an email. I always just buy 200 pesos each month and get an email confirming the purchase. So they already have my email address. Very strange.
